I think you will obtain +10 years if you avoid brain infections. This means you have no choice but to do the same thing over and over and over and over for so many years, that ones features change.

I also come from a family of near centenarians.
Good genes, good diet and lifestyle habits,
few bouts of ill-health, I might add appropriate
consciousness... they all add up.

But I think what's compelling about this philosophy
is what kind of person it makes and by extension,
what kind of world.

I spoke with my grandpa yesterday. We were chatting about computer stuff and his wife being ill. My favorite picture of him is where he's boxing some Irish guy in the 20's or 30's. Ofcourse, when I boxed he didn't like it. Anyway, he's a character. He believes the biggest insult you can do to a man is throw his hat on the ground. He talks about honor and integrity, but also about being the oldest person he knows. He's just shy of 100; which I know isn't immortal - but its up there. Pretty much the norm for my family. We hit puberty late (college) and just age slower all around. I'm trying to get used to it. I want immortality (or something close), but I already feel different just having a lifespan that's a third longer. Anybody else in this boat?
